BALEARIC ISLANDS ECO TAX: In accordance with the Tourism Law 2/2016 passed by the Balearic islands government all guests over the age of 16 must pay a tourist tax, known as the `Ecotax, of 2.20€ (VAT included) per person per night. From the ninth night of the stay, the amount goes down to 1.10€ (VAT included) per person per night. The tax can be paid on arrival at reception in resort. This tax applies to all visitors booking tourist accommodation in the Balearic Islands.

The tax will be invested in projects that include, the protection, preservation, modernisation and restoration of natural, rural, agricultural and marine environment, the restoration and reinstatement of historic and cultural heritage, scientific research projects, technological innovation and development and to improve bookings, training, the promotion of the island and the quality of employment out of season.
