Lanzarote - Playa Blanca - Town beachAn island with a difference. With its year round climate varying between 21C to 27C and a flying time of approximately four hours from most UK airports, it makes an ideal villa holiday destination for a short break or longer stays. The island is also popular with keen sports enthusiasts from the cycling, triathlon, running and windsurfing world. Due to lack of rainfall, Lanzarote's volcanic landscape is difficult to describe other than to say nature has created an island of unique features. The absence of high rise blocks, seen in so many parts of the modern tourist world, promotes a feeling of quality and controlled development.

View from Mirador del Rio towards GraciosaAt the same time, history has not been ignored; some areas and villages on the Island having almost remained unchanged by time and hardly affected by progress and changes in fashion, yet at the same time preserved by continuous and careful restoration.

Between sunbathing and swimming, hiring a car and driving along the Island's well-developed road system will add to the enjoyment of your visit to Lanzarote and not the least of which should include 'Fire Mountain', the largest volcanic region in the Canary Islands covering some 200 sq. kilometres within the Timanfaya National Park. Or a visit to Mirador del Rio, the highest point on the island where there is a viewing room, which also serves food, with wraparound windows which allow panoramic views towards the tiny island of the Graciosa and the Straight of "El Rio" which separates it from Lanzarote. In general car hire in Lanzarote is good value and there are some great car rental deals to be had particlularly in low season. Take a look and our Lanzarote Car Hire page at the wide range of models available. If however, you are looking to rent a car in high season, it is adviseable to reserve one with us well in advance.
