With a year round average temperature of 23 degrees centigrade, Tenerife
has enviable conditions in which to play golf. Enthusiasts are able to
enjoy the sport during any season however the most popular time to play
is during the winter, away from the cold UK climate.
The island currently has nine excellent courses all with different topography
and landscapes which have been designed by world class professionals
such as Pepe Gancedo, Donald Steel, Severiano Ballesteros and John Jacobs.
Many have bunkers full of black sand and are flanked by a variety of indigenous
flora and fauna. The hosting of important PGA tournaments is a regular
occurrence in Tenerife with events such as the Tenerife Ladies Open and
the Canaries Spanish Open. Distances around the island are short and there
are golf courses in the north as well as the south, some of which are
within easy reach of our selected range of villas and apartments.
From the port of Los Cristianos, the neighbouring island of La Gomera, easily accessible by ferry, creates a further opportunity to enjoy the unique characteristics of Tecina Golf with its stunning views across the Atlantic ocean.

Tecina Golf - Island of La Gomera
A holiday in the Canary Islands would not be complete with out a visit to Gomera. Opened in 2003, Tecina Golf is situated in the Tecina valley at Playa de Santiago and very close to the Hotel Jardin Tecina. The location of this 18 hole 6343 metre course on the slopes of Tecina, with its spectacular views of the valley and the Atlantic Ocean with the majestic Mount Teide in the distance, guarantees golfers a unique experience. An additional unique characteristic of the course lies in the fact that the first hole is 175 metres above the eighteenth hole and the clubhouse. Whilst a minibus service operates directly to the first tee, course buggy rental is recommended. Of the course itself, the fairways are generous, but the situation of the greens and bunkers make each hole a necessity for precision, the 337 metre tenth presenting a particular challenge, the tee being forty five meters above the green. Returning to the country cottage style club house, the terrace provides admirable views while enjoying the facilities of the coffee and drinks bar.
