Mountain Bike Tours of TenerifeA great way to tour the island of Tenerife during your holiday.
There are six different models of bike for rent. Most of the bikes are
from the MARIN brand and available in sizes S, M, L and XL. All bikes come
with a helmet, spare inner tube, lock and tyre levers. EQUIPMENT

Sample Tour descriptions - Itineraries may vary. MONTAÑAS NEGRAS (medium level) This tour commences in the shadow of Mount Teide on the south side of the island at an altitude of 1100metres. You will first pass the site where the last active lava stream passed some 100 years ago. From here you bike into the national protected area of Montañas Negras where you come on to a black moon like surface after an uphill section into the forest. After the forest there is a downhill section into the town of Santiago del Teide. Here you have an ‘’apres bike’’ at a local bar to cool down before getting back in the bus.VILAFLOR (easy to medium level) The Vilaflor tour starts off in the highest town in Spain which is at an altitude of 1400 metres. Here you have a warm up climb on the main road passing the local water company. Then its off on the dirt. Once on the dirt, the tour continues through the pine forest until you reach the highest point of the tour at almost 1700metres where you pass the start of the Cañadas, surrounding Mount Teide. From there you return back down on the dirt road until you reach the starting point in Vilaflor where you have an ‘’apres bike’’ in a local bar. ESPERANZA TOUR. (medium to hard level) Here you start off in the pine forest passing and overlooking the northern part of the island towards the ‘’La Orotava Valley’’. After a long and steep uphill section you continue the tour on the other side of the island discovering the different fauna and vegetation (Eucalyptus forest) where you are treated to a wonderful view over the eastern part of the island. After some climbs and a downhill section you reach the starting point where you end the tour with an ‘’apres bike’’ in a local bar. |
Starting from most resorts on the south side of the island the fully
escorted and guided mountain bike tours may be booked in advance through us
prior to arrival. Maximum group size is 8. Alternatively rent a bike and go
off on your own with the aid of a GPS and tour description. The handheld GPS
device can be rented with pre-programmed tours on it. It makes your mountain
bike holiday much easier as you don’t need to search for the right tracks on
map!
